I started cross stitching when I was about 8 or 9 years old. My mom taught me how to make those vintage-looking Christmas ornaments. I wish I had some of the ones I made when I was a kid, but unfortunately we had a total loss house fire when I was about 10, and we lost a lot of stuff.

Later, as an adult, I rediscovered cross stitch and I stitched up a few more vintage-looking ornaments from some kits I got on clearance one year at a local craft store. After about 5 years of hauling those supplies from house to house, I donated the unstitched kits to a thrift store. I’m kicking myself for that now!! It was probably around $50 (at clearance price) worth of supplies.

Recently, circa 2020, I started stitching again. It’s become more “cool” and there are a lot more modern pattern options. I’ve been stitching a lot over the last 3 years or so.
